OBJECTIVE The objective of this project was to create a short term identity system for a randomly selected event. The pieces were to be cohesive without being repetitive. The items to be included were a housing format, a brochure, a poster, and an app.

APPROACH I randomly selected my location, Albuquerque, NM, and my event, a music festival. In following with popular music in that area, I chose to make it a bluegrass/folk music festival, and my pre-existing passion for this music really helped me strive for the best possible outcome on this project. I wanted the color scheme to be representative of the middle-of-the-desert location of the festival and play with a fun typeface that would give the identity a more soulful feel.

HOUSING FORMAT The above images show the housing format I designed to hold my poster and brochure. It is a basic folded envelope with a pattern I created on the interior. You may note throughout the photos to come that I kept a rustic feel throughout this identity system.

BROCHURE This brochure is meant to give further information to those who signed up to receive more information about the Desert Blues Festival. The brochure also contains the ticket(s) to the event that the person has requested. You can see the full ticket below.
05.
TICKETS Though these tickets were not a required component of this project, we were encouraged to create any materials that we thought would complement our event. I thought that a ticket would be the perfect chance to have fun with the design elements I had been using and really push out of my comfort zone.

POSTER The last print component for the project was to create a poster advertising our even. For this, I took a few elements that I was already utilizing and tried to differentiate them so that the poster wasn't just a copy of what I had already done.
07.
APP DESIGN The final component of this project was to show one function of an app that would be associated with the event. I chose to show a "NOW PLAYING" feature which shows which song is currently playing. From there, attendees would be able to view that bands setlist for the day, learn more about the band, and even download the song to their phone.
